We’ve already told you about programs that punish you for not exercising regularly, but if you’re the type to respond better to positive reinforcement, we’ve got another motivational tool up our sleeve: Earndit.
This free new website syncs with a handful of popular fitness trackers to reward your good behavior, bestowing you with post-workout points you can redeem for things like gift cards and charitable donations.
The way it works is simple: You link your Earndit account to your fitness tracker of choice (Nike+, Fitbit, MapMyFitness and Garmin, to name a few). Then, every time you use your tracker in tandem with your workout, Earndit automatically awards you points based on your activity, time and endurance: 10 points per mile run, 15 points per Foursquare gym check-in, and so on.
Once you’ve accrued a slew of points, you can cash them in--credit-card style--for various prizes, including gift cards to H.Bloom (250 points for a $25 credit) and Bonobos (500 points for a $50 credit) or donations to worthy organizations such as Heifer International (500 points earns one goat for a needy family).
After all, who doesn’t like imagining the gift of livestock when completing that final bike loop?
