Take a Dip
New serum promises lush, smudge-free lashes
Now, there's LashDip, a waterproof, gel-like ink that acts like the best mascara you've ever used (no clumping or running) and stays put for six weeks. The dark ink combines the volumizing benefits of mascara with the lengthening effects of lash extensions.
The service, which costs about $200, is being rolled out at spas and salons nationwide (and includes a complimentary touch up and a sealing serum to apply every two or three days). A certified LashDip aesthetician coats the ink onto your upper and lower lashes, then sculpts the formula to your desired length, shape, and curl, using a comb that resembles a mascara brush.
Devotees swear LashDip stays put through exercise, showering and a fitful night's sleep. We tried it before vacation, and our lashes stayed gorgeous and smudge-free through hot weather, tennis matches and dips in the pool.
The 20-minute application requires you to sit very still (skip the latte beforehand), but we think that's a small price to pay for lashes that stay full and lush for weeks, without a smudge in sight.
