Huarache sandals seem to see a resurgence every few years. And really, who could blame the fashion community? These woven-leather shoes are breathable, comfortable and casually cool. (They were good enough for the Beach Boys, at least.)
This summer, we?re seeing them in all different styles and at all different price points. Here, a few of our favorites.
Basic No need to mess with a good thing: Go full-on classic with BC Footwear?s No Surprises sandal ($70) or Tristan Blair?s tribal studded version ($216). We love the two-toned interweaving on these Frye slides ($66), which is also found on Forever 21?s faux-leather pair ($23).
Bright For added summer pop, try the earthy shoe in a decidedly non-natural color. Frye?s coral thong huaraches ($148) are beachy and floral, while Rocket Dog?s island-striped sandal ($41) is unabashedly neon. Our pick: J. Crew?s take on Tangerine Tango ($148), the Pantone color of the year.
Heeled Don?t do flats? No problem. Frye?s Joy platform ($143) is still super walkable, as are dressier offerings from Cole Haan ($298) and Givenchy ($770). As for Steve Madden?s take on the sexy huarache look ($94): We?d probably fall over, but you?re welcome to give it a shot.
