Top designers head home
We love fashion. We love home decor. So you can imagine our excitement upon seeing these big-name clothing designers' new runway-worthy home lines:
? The unstoppable DVF has recently taken on many new endeavors (jewelry, hotels). But we're most impressed by her just-launched tabletop and bedding lines, which evoke her famous dresses' bold patterns and asymmetry. The Animal Garden pillow and duvet collection ($90 to $300), for instance, draws clear inspiration from her iconic wraps. Meanwhile, her kitchen items--from this Batik sugar bowl ($35) to this gorgeous, gold flatware set ($105)--remind us why she's considered such a master of proportions.
? Known for simple, sophisticated menswear, fashion guru Paul Smith has a knack for tableware, too. His recent collaboration with Danish design firm Stelton yielded these bright and elegant stainless steel bowls ($60 to $100), which you can mix and match to your heart's desire.
? The Hermès label brings to mind silk scarves and handbags, but as of this month, you should start thinking teacups and armchairs as well. The famous French brand is going home-goods friendly with exquisite offerings like the folding Pipa chair ($11,100) and Continental mug ($165). What can we do but wish them bonne chance!
