Go for the Gold
Gold makeup that’s glam and grown-up
Make no mistake: We love gold makeup as much as the next woman. We just want to wear it without evoking our twelve-year-old selves (or an 80s-themed costume party). Luckily, these cosmetics embrace the gold and the grown-up:
Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in Boom Boom Pow ($20): This nail polish is the most glamorous we've encountered--it contains actual gold particles--and might be the fanciest thing we've put on our fingers since an engagement ring.
Guerlain L'Or Radiance Concentrate ($70): There are makeup primers and then there are Guerlain makeup primers. Infused with 24-karat gold, this one moisturizes and smoothes fine lines and provides a youthful glow.
Yves Saint Laurent Ombres 5 Lumiéres ($56): These eye shadows come in five shades and a variety of finishes (from matte to shimmering), taking you from day to evening in a snap. The Bronze Gold palette flatters every eye color, and the built-in highlighter instantly makes your eyes appear bigger.
Twirl by Kate Spade ($65): While this isn't officially makeup, it is officially spectacular. And don't let the girly name fool you: This scent is seriously sophisticated, and the notes of blackberry and orange blossom will make you think of spring on even the coldest winter days. We can't get enough of the gold-painted bottle, which was inspired by Champagne bubbles.
