We love the barre fitness method as much as the next wannabe ballerina, but schlepping to the studio to cram in a workout is so 2011. Now, thanks to Sadie Lincoln's mybarre3 online streaming service, we can take all the leg-lifting, core-toning classes we can handle from the comfort of our own living room.
Lincoln, a Sharecare fitness expert and longtime Pilates instructor, created mybarre3 specifically for overcommitted women like herself, and the classes are definitely quick and efficient enough to squeeze into a busy day.
When you sign up for a subscription ($15 for one month, $150 for a year), you'll have unlimited access to a variety of ever-changing, professionally taught 10- to 60-minute videos, which you can stream online from your computer, iPad or iPhone.
Whether you're looking to tone your core and glutes (the 30-minute "Runner's Workout") or appear a few inches taller ("Posture with Jenni Johnson"), the routines definitely deliver. We recently tried the 10-minute "Leg Shaper" class and, despite the quaking in our quads, felt noticeably stronger after all those lifts.
Some workouts require accessories like a yoga mat, handheld weights or an inflatable core ball, but at least you know you'll never have to think about attire: Pajama pants are always appropriate.
