We're ready for a little structure in our lives--and our purses. Plus, we're rather hung-up on plaid at the moment. So our hearts skipped a beat when we discovered Plaid Doctrine, a new, Seattle-based maker of classic-but-playful print bags.

The fabric for these eco-friendly totes is made from recycled bottles, and the bags are embellished with vegetable-tanned leather and other domestically sourced materials. The result: durable, water-resistant, guilt-free arm-candy.

The collection includes a briefcase ($450), a laptop tote ($450), an iPad sleeve ($69) and a clever purse-organizer ($70). And with patterns ranging from simple stripes to classic houndstooth, the bags are office-to-dinner-to-airplane-ready.

But our favorite part might be the organizational design features, like a document sleeve, slots for pens and gadgets, and a rear pocket, on the briefcase and tote, that slips over your luggage-handle. After all, when it comes to staying organized, we need all the help we can get.
