Remember when you signed up for that 7 a.m. 10-K? Well, it’s fast approaching, and you’d better start training. (No, watching Prefontaine doesn’t count.)

Here to help is RockMyRun, a new streaming service for curated running playlists.

Upon downloading the app for iPhone or Android, you can filter mixes by genre, length, BPM and popularity. Once you’ve found one you like, just click, stream and start running.

We, for instance, plugged in “Hip-hop,” “’90s” and “Under 60 minutes” and ended up with an adrenaline-boosting 45-minute mix featuring Missy Elliott, Fugees and Dr. Dre. Then we searched for “popular,” “rock” and “120 BPM” and settled on a fantastic playlist called Treasures & Guilty Pleasures. (There was Tears for Fears. There was Diana Ross.)

Much like Spotify or Pandora, the ad-supported version is free and the premium version requires a small fee ($3 a month). But because each RockMyRun mix is crafted by a real, professional DJ rather than an algorithm, it has a natural flow that’s particularly conducive to running (warms you up, keeps you going, cools you down).

In other words, it’ll give you something to focus on besides the blister on your pinkie toe.
