Not only that, but you fell in love with your waitress and the bartender gave you three free shots of Vana Tallinn. (What? When in Estonia!) The bill comes to €25, and you want to show your appreciation. How much do you tip?
Here to help is TipThisMuch.in, a new website (app coming soon) that tells you how much it’s customary to tip in various countries--then does the math for you.
So, in the instance of your Estonian adventure, you’d plug in €25. TipThisMuch.in would suggest leaving around 10 percent and calculate that the total comes to €27. You can even plug in how many people you’re dining with, and the site will split the bill.
This is obviously a great service when you’re traveling abroad or planning a trip. But we also just love seeing the customs in various places around the world. (Mmm... armchair travel.)
