Book a hotel stay with a charity angle
Your room service could help a kid in need.

We?ve donated to enough canned-food drives (see ya, black beans) to know November is prime giving season.

The newest fall charity trend? Big-name hotels are teaming up with local organizations to share a portion of their revenue. (Typically, they?ll make a donation to a commendable nonprofit for every night you stay.)

Here, four of our favorites:

1. For every night you reserve the Room for Hope suite (from $249) at the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile, the hotel will donate $100 to help kids like Andrew at the nearby Lurie Children?s Hospital.

2. Book the Get Rest, Give Back package at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia (from $220), and they?ll donate $50 per night to Our Place Society, an inner-city mission that helps feed the hungry.

3. Care about men?s health? All Cali-based BLVD Hotels will donate 15 percent of any room rate (booked through November) to the Movember Foundation, a mustache-lovin? org that provides funding for research of prostate and testicular cancers.

4. Through December, every time you use your MasterCard at a COMO hotel or resort--there are 11 across the Caribbean, Europe and Asia (we?ll meet you in Bali)--the transaction will trigger a $25 donation to a local underprivileged school. (As if you needed another reason to order room service.)
