A curated shopping spot comes to Hollywood
We've long been a fan of Angeleno Geren Lockhart's elegant-yet-travel-friendly fashion collection, Geren Ford. And now we're making tracks to her new retail space in Hollywood.
The Annex is a boho-chic shop anchored by a tiny mid-century desk and a cowhide rug covering artfully paint-splattered tile. Current stock includes the lambskin Francis jacket ($780), the 1920s-inspired Del Mar dress ($239) and the slouchy silk Du Cap henley ($235). We're lusting after cotton-Modal trousers ($115) that just might break SoCal of its sweatpants addiction.
We love the well-edited vintage selection, too: things like leather clutches designed by Bonnie Cashin ($175), bright Moroccan rugs ($275) and a crystal ice bucket ($75). An events room--perfect for birthday shopping parties--has a rotating art exhibit. (Mod painter Donald Alberti is up now.)
For now, the Annex is appointment only (click here to make one), but "we're non-precious about it," a staffer says, in case anyone thinks there's a purchase commitment. And starting in November, the shop will keep public store hours one weekend a month. For a store with a vibe this cool yet warm, we're happy to work out a time to get together.
