Leave it to someone with an enviable lifestyle--surfer, designer and globe-trotter Jesse Kamm--to create clothes we want to live in.
Angeleno Kamm really nails the subset of chic and comfort in her fall collection with items like a Tencel-and-flax sleeveless dress ($585) that?s perfect for layering in our cold-hot-cold fall days. There?s also a brushed Japanese cotton trench ($635) that?s as comfy as a wrap-front bathrobe.
But it?s her pants that really make us fall for Kamm, since they flout today?s ubiquitous skinny-jean silhouette; she specializes in the high-waisted trouser. From silk pants ($368) in a bright tomato hue to wide-cut olive green sailor pants ($425), we like how these cool cropped trousers make even the simplest top into something Katharine Hepburn would have worn.
The clothes are made here in Los Angeles using principles of sustainability that Kamm lives by. (For example, she spends half the year in Panama in a house she and her husband built by hand.) More than 60 percent of her fabrics are remnants, and her fabrics are handprinted using nontoxic inks.
So it?s high time we stepped into some of Kamm?s high-waters.
