We?re big fans of local design commentator Frances Anderton. Her dulcet British voice enlightens our Tuesdays when she hosts KCRW?s DnA: Design and Architecture radio broadcast, straightforwardly narrating the latest trends without any fussy elitism.
And now we?re getting the chance to spend a whole day with her, when she curates a November 8 series of talks and parties. Called DIEM (Design Intersects Everything Made), this is Anderton?s way to bring together everyone from interior gurus (rub shoulders with decorator Rose Tarlow at breakfast), upstart clothing designers (Trina Turk?s husband, Jonathan Skow, creator of Mr. Turk) and little old me and you.
We?ll be getting tips on social media from Skow (keep it classy, Los Angeles), hearing a Venice antiques specialist weigh in on the knockoffs controversy (buy original) and feeling great when globe-trotting design journalist Mallory Roberts Morgan explains how Parisians are gaga for contemporary Angeleno style.
We?re looking forward to meeting up with various pals throughout the day at the events, which are all within walking distance of one another in the WeHo Design District, culminating at the Leica store for a chat about---you guessed it--Instagram.
