Los Angeles gets a lot of attention for its homegrown blue jeans, but now we?re smitten with something much dressier--a local shoe designer?s red-carpet-ready heels.

Jerome C. Rousseau is French-Canadian by birth, but his adopted home--as well as his aesthetic--is all Hollywood. He?s been designing his eponymous line for only five years, but his glittery, mesh-covered and embossed shoes have already turned up on the likes of Olivia Wilde, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Emmy Rossum.

And his new fall collection looks to be the kickiest one yet--we?re imagining his flower-patterned velvet-and-glitter bootie ($895) as a way to sex up our LBD. His blue velvet, silver-toed pump ($595) would look great with a print dress or palazzo pants. And his black, purple and red suede T-strap pump ($695) begs to be worn with leopard print for an over-the-top style statement.

Apart from their impeccable craftsmanship (they?re made in Italy), these stand out from the fancy shoe crowd with their originality and sense of fun. After all, it?s not every designer who creates a shoe inspired by Glinda the Good Witch.
