Eyelash extensions come to you
Here in Los Angeles, we depend on house calls to keep looking and feeling our best. Hairdressers, facialists, masseuses, even herbalists all know how to make their way to our homes, and we appreciate the convenience (and, ahem, discretion) of being tended to at our dining-room table.
Now we’ve discovered a new delivery service: eyelash extensions.
It’s courtesy of the Beverly Hills salon Lashfully, a year-old outfit that is swell to visit: You’re treated to a flute of Champagne while waiting on a velvet sofa under a crystal chandelier. But as comfy as that is, we’ll opt for the experience we had when our lash technician, Meghan, draped a portable massage table with crisp white linens on our shady deck. For 90 minutes, we lay under swishing palms while Meghan speedily applied dozens of individual faux mink lashes.
A full set costs $150 when it’s done in the salon, while the at-home service costs $300. But since the lashes--correction, our dramatic and sultry new fringes--stay in place for six weeks or more, if you amortize the cost, it comes out to just a few dollars a day. More beauty, zero effort--now that’s a home run.
