What makes a great T-shirt? Fabric and fit. A hotshot new brand of luxury tees called Bella Luxx has them both.
Our favorite tees these days are made of MicroModal, a featherlight knit so soft, it feels like it's been washed a million times. Made from spun beech-wood fibers, then blended with fine cotton or silk, the resulting fabric is a durable, machine-washable delight.
So we're mad for Bella Luxx's MicroModal collection, like the scoop-neck tee ($38), a Supima cotton blend, or the racer-back cami ($38), which has a touch of tissue silk jersey. Designs are well cut and come in versatile colors including black, white and pink. Plus the fabric is thin enough to work under blouses as well as on its own for hot days.
Los Angeles-based Bella Luxx founders Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge show they understand our local sense of casual chic with these T-shirts. Select styles are now available online and at Manhattan Beach's Mind Body Manhattan; in the next month, a Bella Luxx e-commerce site will sell the full collection. Good thing, too--this kind of softness is addictive.
