Ponchos for your pooch
Lots of East Coast canines bundle up during bitter weather, but poor Cali dogs usually get nothing more than their own fur to guard against our chilly evenings.
But with Growler Goods ponchos, our little buddies can snuggle in over-the-head serapes that make them look like dashing banditos. (Ponchos for people are trending as well these days, showing up everywhere from music festivals to museum openings.)
Available online, the all-cotton Ocotillo Poncho ($75 to $135) comes in blue or terra-cotta, and it?s fitted with a soft undershirt to keep dogs from tripping on the long blanket. Ponchos come in four sizes so that the skinniest Chihuahua, heavyset bulldog or long-legged whippet can sport them.
There are other canyon-cool designs from Growler Goods, too, such as a denim dog sling ($85) for carrying pups up to 15 pounds like a baby, giftable denim bandannas ($12) and cotton leashes with built-in poop bag holders ($84). We plan to get a dog tepee ($88 to $110) for the beach, since our pet is always looking for a shady spot to snooze. Can we get a woof woof?
