The perforated leather slip dress ($795) is lined with nude-colored habotai silk; like the short-sleeved satin-back silk crepe shift ($695), it comes in a variety of colors.
Kim has a way of making wardrobe staples extra-special: Her short-sleeved silk-and-cotton white blouse ($322) has a feminine front detail, and her lightweight leather coat ($1,295) has flattering gathers at the neck.
We?re devoted to shopping less and buying better. That?s why we?re spending what precious little apparel-browsing time we have at the minimalist and lovely Elaine Kim boutique, where the designer has created a spring collection of separates that are as flattering as they are luxurious.
Her fashions are quietly elegant, so that people notice us, not some loud print we?re wearing. Standouts include a perforated-leather slip dress ($795), a silk blouse with an artful self-belt for fit ($385) and a boyfriend jacket of eco-conscious Cupro cotton ($775).
What?s more, since Kim?s got a bustling atelier in the back of her West Third Street shop, she can custom-fit any of her offerings--she?ll even open by appointment on weekends for clients too wrecked by workweek demands to stop in.

After selling Product in the ?90s, Kim went on hiatus.
Well, her loss of free time is our gain--Kim's new business model focuses on catering to the needs of the successful, discerning women of Los Angeles.
