As a street-style-blog follower, we're wowed by the ultracool fashion sense of Paris Vogue editrix Emmanuelle Alt. Her skinny trousers, crisp jackets with T-shirts and short boots define Gallic sophistication yet also seem so L.A. woman.
And now we've got one-stop-shopping for this sort of luxe rocker chic, since the new Barbara Bui store opened. This French-Vietnamese designer is known for her easy-to-wear day clothes, as well as red-carpet-worthy evening wear. And her new boutique makes the full collection available on the West Coast for the first time.
Bui's pants have their own cult following; their masterful cut hugs and gives in all the right places. We're enamored of her fall-collection trousers in lightweight wool ($505) and stretch leather ($1,900). Jackets range from beautifully constructed wool ($920) to leather ($1,560), and tops include studded T-shirts ($335), tasteful cream blouses ($650) and tissue-weight knitwear ($290 to $400).
Bui's shoes round out the mix. Splurge on the hand-sewn beaded booties ($3,500) but be quick: Beyoncè already snatched up three pairs.
