We?re of two minds about the hottest new retail service in town--the free same-day delivery offered by designer Cheyann Benedict. On one hand, we?re thrilled that we can browse the website in the morning, ring the La Brea boutique and by dinnertime someone will bring us our new silk-cashmere sweater ($375) or silk caftan ($550).

But the downside to that arrangement is that we miss the chance to hang out at the swank new shop, where interior designer Bret Witke consulted on the groovy '70s Cali vibe including framed vintage erotic photography and furniture that Benedict designed herself, like the curved sectional sofa and raw-edged wood coffee table shown above.

With either choice, it?s all good--exactly the attitude of Benedict?s Cali-cool designs, which include tees as comfortable as those of her former line, C&C California. Many new designs are sophisticated and luxe, including digitally-printed silk dresses ($480) and drool-worthy sweater coats ($1,800) designed by Benedict and made here in Los Angeles of Loro Piana cashmere.

Along with the debut collection, there?s a well-curated range of vintage, including lots of immaculate Pucci. These items aren?t on the website--yet another reason to shop the store in person.
