Gallerist Heather Taylor’s new table linens
In setting a lovely weeknight table, we meet our personal household Waterloo. Our basic napkins and everyday plates are meant to feel homey and eclectic, but the overall effect looks boring and mismatched.
So we?re delighted to have found jazzy table linens from local blogger and art gallery owner Heather Taylor. Heather Taylor Home linens are dinner parties in themselves, bright cotton thread embroidered on unprocessed beige linen. Crisp white flowers march across one table runner ($140), while bright violet or pink God?s-eyes (based on the native American symbol) anchor place mats ($100 for four) and the world?s cutest cocktail napkins ($60 for four).
Taylor?s designs, hand-embroidered in India, are inspired by casual but cool meals she remembers enjoying in Mexico and Greece. Frankly, we expect nothing less from this taste-making multitasker, since we already love her Culver City gallery, Taylor de Cordoba, and her blog, L.A. in Bloom, where she chronicles her creative party and cooking ideas.
Stop in to Clare Vivier?s Silverlake shop to see Taylor?s fiber arts, and we bet you?ll want to bring some of their warmth home for yourself.
