Japanese fashion guru Issey Miyake makes clothes that are wearable conversation starters. From his eponymous high-fashion line to his polyester-chic Pleats Please separates, he's been a tireless innovator for 40 years.

And now, thanks to local retailer Caryl Kim, a cross-section of the master's entire vision is for sale in one space: NS Temp Issey Miyake. Kim has long sold Miyake--along with pieces from other high-concept designers--next door at her loft-like Noodle Stories store (named after an expression for tall tales).

Our favorites include a pleated smock dress from the Issey Miyake women's collection ($1,135); loose crop trousers from HaaT, the line from Miyake's former textile designer ($360) and colorful offerings from Cauliflower, such as a selection of crushable T-shirts sold in a tube.

Kim plans to keep her pop-up shop open at least through the fall. But since these collectible, easy-to-wear garments are limited edition, we recommend scooping up a piece or two now.
