A spa that reminds you to visit
We feel like a million dollars after a spa treatment. Plus, since our muscles, skin and nails radiate with relaxation, we daresay we look like it, too. So of course we?d like to build this indulgence into our regular schedule.
Now we have help in paying ourselves first, so to speak, with a program that automatically reminds us to book our appointments.
Alchemie Spa in Santa Monica is a shiny new space with an all-organic menu and pro staff. (Manager Tawney Sablan is an alum of Venice?s Nitespa.) Customers can pay for their massages, facials, mani-pedis or waxings à la carte, or they can join a monthly membership program in which they are automatically charged for a discounted monthly service.
Any months you don?t want to visit, you can cancel the charges via email. Missed appointments convert to credits for future services or can be used for gift certificates. And members get 10 percent discounts on products such as Butter London and vegan SpaRitual nail lacquers, Jadience herbal skin products and more.
Take your better half in for a couples massage ($170 for 60 minutes) using the Esalen method (think long, flowing strokes that mimic ocean waves). Just don?t blame us when you start fighting over who gets to use each month?s appointment.
