Trina Turk’s desert-inspired collection
We’ve long been followers of the Los Angeles-based Trina Turk, the leading lady of colorful-print clothing, retro-styled jewelry and vivid home decor. Her lifestyle is to die for--from her dreamy desert manse called the “Ship of the Desert” to her blog posts about fab trips to Coachella and Capri.
And now we’re happy her fan club will be expanding: Banana Republic has launched Turk’s capsule collection of clothes inspired by Palm Springs. The blue swirl-print jersey cowl-neck dress ($120) and pink-and-orange tunic dress ($120) are cool, comfortable and evoke the best of Pucci past. Accessories include a bright party clutch ($98) in red or turquoise and stone-studded bracelets in chartreuse, orange or purple ($40 to $50).
Even at half the price of Turk’s signature collection, these clothes are made of quality materials (silk, cotton sateen) and constructed so well that they’ll be brightening our summer wardrobes for years. Some of our favorite pieces are available only in-store--such as a floppy sun hat ($98) and shorts ($50) in the collection’s signature “Crazy Botanical” print--so we’re stopping in soon for a sartorial smile before this limited-edition collection sells out.
