We're crazy about our city's galleries, art walks and festivals, but sometimes we have a hard time keeping up with such a widespread, energetic scene. Luckily, we've just discovered For Your Art, a new website and events space that informs, educates and entertains us without any confusing mumbo-jumbo.

So we're having a doughnut to celebrate.

Actually, 24 hours' worth of doughnuts: Beginning at noon tomorrow, For Your Art is giving away L.A.'s best doughnuts--all free--during the first event at its new space on Wilshire Boulevard.

The doughnut giveaway coincides with nearby LACMA's showing of Christian Marclay's The Clock, an epic 24-hour film in which a gajillion clock- and time-oriented film clips have been edited together. (The New Yorker recently devoted 12 pages to the California-born, Swiss-raised artist.) And while we could wax poetic about the connections between the food and the event--24-hour doughnut shops, both clocks and doughnuts are round, etc.--really, we're mostly aflutter about the sweets themselves. Glazed coconut from the Donut Hole, strawberry buttermilk from Fonuts, apple fritter from Randy's--a new one every two hours.

Aside from all the sugar, we're excited to sign up for For Your Art's free weekly email, which provides guidance on everything from art openings to collecting. Really, it's such a useful site, we didn't even need the doughnuts to love it--not that we're refusing them!
