J. Brand’s debut ready-to-wear collection
It seems as though local jeans maker J. Brand is clairvoyant: First it debuted colored denim, and now we live in it. Then it brought out floral prints, which we're adding into our spring fashion rotation. And now that we're feeling like dressing up a bit, the brand has launched its first ready-to-wear line.
The office-appropriate collection is designed around a slender silhouette, which makes sense since J. Brand became popular in 2005 with its surprisingly flattering and comfortable second-skin jeans. Among our favorite pieces are the blouses, which include a back-button silk in gunmetal gray ($345) and a jewel-neck, three-quarter-sleeve blouse made of black glove leather ($795).
Other standout looks in the collection--available online and locally at Ron Herman and Intermix--include a boyfriend blazer in white or black cotton ($365) and a cropped jacket in creamy-hued Italian leather ($1,095). Mix in a couple of neutral T-shirts and some favorite J. Brand jeans and we're all set for spring.
