Monet, Picasso, Van Gogh and [insert your name here]. Thanks to new workshops at Santa Monica's Paint:Lab, you'll be able to embrace the artist within by putting your own unique stamp on iconic works.

Led by a rotating team of experienced local artists, each class replicates painting techniques behind a chosen masterpiece, from Starry Night to the Mona Lisa.

Intimidated? Fret not: Workshops are intimate (up to only 15 students), and novices are welcome. "Everyone is encouraged equally, and it's fun," says manager Lisa Miccio. "We want this to be a place where people can experience, express and explore their creativity."

Need a bit of liquid courage to try your hand at painting? You've landed in the right place. Sip from complimentary carafes of chardonnay and cabernet and nosh on fruit and cheese as your brushstrokes come alive. At the conclusion of the $55 three-hour session, you'll be able to take your canvas home (paints are acrylic, which dries relatively quickly) and hang it in your own carefully curated gallery. Or powder room, as the case may be.
