You love new clothes. You also love having a curated closet that?s not stuffed to the gills.
Satisfy both desires on Thursday, November 20, at the Global Fashion Exchange, an all-day clothing swap at the Dolby Theatre.
You heard that right--in the same venue where the mega-glam Oscars are held, you can bring in a clean, gently used item and trade it for someone else?s pre-worn treasure. The event is sponsored by a bunch of corporations (including, interestingly, H&M, the company that introduced disposable fashion to the U.S.), and it?s free to attend.
The point is to encourage everyone not to throw so much stuff away, since it?s so wasteful--one pair of jeans takes 2,200 gallons of water to make.
And while we certainly support that message, we?re pleased just to unload that slightly too-tight designer dress we stupidly bought in our skinnier days--and trade it in for something equally fabulous.
