Make DIY bouquets at a snazzy new florist
Nothing fancies up our home like fresh flowers. But who delights in spending big bucks at the florist? (Let?s not even discuss the tired selection at Gelson?s.)
Here?s a suggestion: Drop into Fleurish, the new DIY florist in Brentwood, where you just might pick up a few tricks of the trade.
You?ll get started by choosing a seasonal bouquet (from $35 to $125). You?ll then receive a Fleurkit--a box filled with supplies like a vase, floral tape and a knife. Finally, you?ll get fresh stems and begin creating your masterpiece by following simple steps on an iPad. (Don?t panic: An attendant stands by for questions.) Once you?re done, the staff will show you how to wrap it in cellophane and place it in your Fleurkit box for safe travel.
On our visit, we were torn between a simple sunflower cluster and a tricky, wire-wrapped calla lily creation but ended up going with a rose-and-orchid design--which we finished in just over half an hour.
