Pj’s from LACMA and Liberty of London
Pajamas are in the news: They're in vogue as ladies' street wear, and we're predicting that pajama-lover Hugh Hefner will be more visible locally now that Playboy magazine is relocating to Los Angeles.
So we're having a pajama party of our own by shopping for stylish, good-looking sleepwear sets, gowns and caftans from beloved local shop Bedhead Pajamas. We appreciate its wide range of machine-washable fabrics (jersey, flannel, voile and more). And since the company makes styles for tots, men and women (including plus size and maternity), a stop at the flagship store on West Third Street ticks lots of names off our gift list.
Our favorites include a retro-cool, limited-edition pattern ($136) by interior designer Paul László in collaboration with LACMA. And the Liberty of London premium line (from $234), comprised of brilliant paisleys, is made of the same 700-thread-count fabric used as wallpaper by 15th-century British royalty.
Bedhead's even got a witty hoodie-and-pants combo done up in cotton jersey that's photo-printed to look like Fair Isle or cable-knit wool sweaters ($218). With one of Bedhead's cashmere robes ($340) thrown atop these pj's, we'll be taking casual California style to a whole new level of comfort.
