We’re always aching to relax--and our Type A tendencies demand the maximum mellow-per-minute.
Now we can get an efficient chillax at The Springs, a 13,800-square-foot warehouse-turned-wellness center in the Arts District downtown that’s got something for every time frame.
If you have 45 minutes Sit under the bistro’s soaring palms and order lime-and-fennel-laced juice ($9) and a bánh mì collard wrap with Brazil nut paté ($12) at the raw vegan restaurant. (Note: Food here is much better than “raw vegan” sounds.)
If you have 60 minutes Throw yourself into a yoga class to downshift (hatha, Kundalini) or rev up (power flow).
If you have 90 minutes Beeline to the treatment area for masseuse Heather Strong's specialty--a California massage that uses everything from shiatsu to Swedish techniques to soothe you. (The massage is an hour, but plan for another half hour to come back from cloud nine.)
If you have all afternoon Do all of the above. Hang out and use the free Wi-Fi between activities.
