Feel the Burn
Get better results faster at Hot Pilates
So you’ve got a week until you wear that slinky cocktail dress--the sleeveless one with a formfitting midsection--and you’re still feeling bloated.
To the rescue, Hot Pilates, a new Sunset Plaza studio where hour-long classes take place in a room heated to between 90 and 100 degrees.
Studio owner Shannon Nadj’s regimen tones and lengthens muscles just like regular Pilates, but because your muscles heat up faster, there’s practically no warm-up time, so you get right to the core workout. And since you sweat so much, you get the added benefit of detoxification. (We noticed ab muscles we hadn’t seen in months after just two classes.)
For your party-frock challenge, our advice is to take a Pilates Booty class and two Hot Pilates classes ($25 each) the week before the event, then slide on the festive attire and await the compliments.
