Who hasn't put on a favorite outfit, then wished they could have a closet full of clothes just like it? Angeleno Whitney Bickers thought just that and decided to open a shop stocked exclusively with the independent female clothiers she loved.
Her week-old Echo Park shop, Myrtle, is as comfortable as the fashions it stocks. When we stopped by the pink-and-gold-toned space, a vintage record player serenaded us as we tried on a dolman-sleeved goldenrod silk blouse ($225) by local designer Kelly Bergin and kicky print dresses with pockets ($240) by Dusen Dusen. ("I love anything with pockets," Bickers says--a girl after our own heart.)
There were more pockets on a striped top ($72) by San Francisco label Curator, as well as on a few select vintage pieces.
The music, mellow vibe and mad selection mean we'll be back. Plus, we haven't taken off that Kelly Bergin top since our visit.
