Si Paletas
Hey fancy party guests, have this yummy street food.

Before there was the Dove Bar, the Slurpee or even the Good Humor Man, there was the paleta. As Angelenos we’re lucky because these refreshing Latin American ice pops are a dime a dozen. But if you ask us, the best, most refreshing ones come from the local brand Si Paletas.

We’re loving both the water-based flavors (like fruity cucumber-melon-mint or peach-orange blossom) and the cream-based creations (such as goat's-milk caramel or avocado-chocolate). You can find the company’s colorful carts via Twitter or, better yet, have paletas delivered to serve at your next fête.

Get ice-pop crazy with a party cooler (from $175 for 50 pops) or a full-sized cart ($700 for 200). Ask company owners Jennifer and Dominique what would pair well with your menu, or just go boozy with a selection including sangria, piña colada and Mexican Coke float (tastes outrageous resting in a shot of rum).

And be sure to ask for their new innovation, the lime-and-spice-laced Michelada pop. You drop said lime pop into a mug of beer to form a supercold Mexican Michelada. With these frozen desserts, your whole event gets a lot cooler.
