We've long wanted a showplace closet, but in lieu of major renovation, we've found a store that's got the perfect blend of function and fashion.

It's Hip'tique, a new Santa Monica boutique that has everything we need from casual wear to special-event dressing. Owner Christine Berardi has laid out the shop to look like a giant, well-appointed closet, complete with groupings of brightly upholstered furniture to relax on and consider purchases. And even the seating is for sale. So if you fall in love with the magenta library chair ($1,400) or the velvet diamond-patterned settee ($3,200), it can find a place in a closet of your own.

There are silk blouses from Tucker ($280) hanging against the wall, and stacked on tables is a hodgepodge of goodies ranging from Habitual coated-denim jeans ($248) to apothecary goods including Butter London nail enamel ($14) and H. Gillerman Organics aromatherapy ($48).

Right now we're especially jazzed about the collection of jewel-toned holiday separates, such as silk blouses in ruby, blue and cream by Amanda Uprichard ($210) and Rory Beca. The store offers everything, including bandeaux from Only Hearts that are perfect for under-silk apparel ($35 to $42).
