NotNeutral furnishings brighten your home
Anyone can put together a tasteful, dignified and--let?s face it--ho-hum living space using a neutral palette. However, it takes a real design pro?s touch to shake things up with a jolt of color.
For guidance, visit NotNeutral, a new design boutique that has just opened its newest location in Pasadena.
We?re gaga for the shop?s Technicolor home furnishings made by the designers at bigwig architecture firm Rios Clementi Hale Studios. (They?re the outfit that put hot-pink furniture all over downtown?s Grand Park.)
To start small, style a tabletop with one of the dozens of City Plates ($50)--they?re printed with expressionistic maps of favorite vacation spots or even your hometown. Then liven up your sofa with a pair of apple-green circle-printed throw pillows ($80 each).
To make a splashier statement, spice up your favorite reading chair with an orange powder-coated accent table ($270). Or cast off your color caution entirely by anchoring your living room with a bold five-by-eight-foot wool carpet ($660) in moody turquoise and plum.
These elements easily bring the energetic feel of our city?s sunny outdoor spaces inside. Because when you come home, shouldn?t you be tickled pink?
