Figue
A little bit of embroidery and you're ready to hit the road.

We love the idea of a summer uniform. (Shorts and a T-shirt? Yes, please.) But despite the ease of pulling on our go-to outfit, we?re longing for a pretty statement piece or two.

Thankfully, we found Figue, a source for unique, flattering tops, dresses and pants that look like something you?d pick up on vacation in Morocco.

This West Coast outpost of designer Stephanie von Watzdorf?s New York boutique is popping up on Abbot Kinney until August 15. Inspired by the designer?s jaunts to places like India, the breezy embroidered and patterned separates are so jet-set legit, a Figue poncho recently adorned the cover of Condé Nast Traveler.

After a quick spin around the whitewashed, filigree-lamp-hung space, it?s hard not to collect an armful of pieces: the maxi dress in a red shark?s-tooth print ($550), a tunic with golden beading ($495) and, that most elusive of summer shopping quarry, flattering drawstring trousers ($110).

We?ll be looking like a true globe-trotter this summer in our new Figue pieces. Trust us, no one will know they?re just from Venice.
