Ah, coconut water: such great health benefits but such meh taste. So in our taste buds’ best interest, we hereby nominate a new beverage to quench our thirst: Victoria’s Kitchen Almond Water.
This glass-bottled drink comes in three refreshing flavors--original, coconut and, our favorite, mint. We love that each serving is about 100 calories and contains a bit of cane sugar. It’s just enough to quiet our sweet tooth but not enough to induce the nausea that sodas or sports drinks tend to trigger on hot days.
And though almond water doesn’t have the magical electrolytes that coconut water has, Victoria’s Kitchen does have a great backstory. Its L.A.-based founder cribbed the recipe from his French grandmother, who raised him on the stuff. We’re enjoying a bottle as a pick-me-up during our 3 p.m. energy slump, and have even spiked it with a bit of white wine at cocktail hour. Leave it to the French to come up with a delicious drink that satis?es everyone from bébés to bon chic, bon genre.
