A new app delivers booze and a bartender
Memorial Day weekend calls for a summer kickoff party. But once again, we?ve made last-minute plans--and our bar cart is bare.
No worries: Saucey, a new, free app, has got us covered.
This Los Angeles-based alcohol-delivery service brings wine, beer and liquor to your door in under an hour. It?s easier than calling your local liquor store (where is that number anyway?). Just place an order and pay through the app. Bottles arrive donning tags printed with quotes from literary inebriates like Hemingway.
Even better: Tomorrow only, Saucey is sending free bartenders along. It works like this: Say you?re in a margarita mood. Open the app, tap the $400 El Matador package and get margarita ingredients, premium tequila shots and cervezas delivered in 40 minutes. A bartender will set up a bar and serve drinks for an hour--for free. (Usually, freelance bartenders average $25 an hour with a four-hour minimum, so that?s serious added value.)
The bartender service is being offered only this Saturday, but check the app?s social media for future mobile-mixologist promotions. (We?re hoping for the Fourth of July.)
For now, we?re relieved to have Saucey to help us ease into our long weekend.
