Unorthodox wellness in the Hamptons
While some think of the East End as a Gatsby-esque playground, the dirty little secret is that it can be a surprisingly spiritual place. We rounded up a few unconventional ways to find some serious Zen this summer:
If you wanna meditate but can?t stand being indoors One Ocean Yoga?s meditation-bent workshops are held outside at the stunning Channing Daughters vineyard. On July 27, partake in kirtan (a chanting circle) from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Singing devotional mantras is super joyful even if you have no clue what you?re saying. 1927 Scuttlehole Rd., Bridgehampton; 631-537-7224
If you wanna have a spiritual paddleboarding experience Jessica Bellofatto of KamaDeva Yoga in East Hampton is offering Full Moon Paddle excursions. Set out at sunset to Georgica Beach, do a 30-minute ?moonlit asana,? then paddle back by moonlight. Book via KamaDeva Yoga, July 20 and 21, August 20 and August 21, 7 to 9 p.m. $90 with board rental, $75 if you bring your own board. 15 Lumber Ln., East Hampton; 631-604-1382
If you wanna go sailing with a side of reiki The Spirit Seeker, a so-called ?conscious sailboat,? offers daylong reiki workshops and hour-long sessions both on board and on a secluded beach around Sag Harbor. Book via Spirit Seeker, available throughout August.
