Long Island’s finest microbreweries
Wineries, schmineries. On a Saturday afternoon, you?ll find us at some of the coolest microbreweries on the East End.
Montauk Brewing Company Housed in a quaint barn-red building off Edgemere, the whole enterprise here is charming, from the beachy beer names (e.g., Driftwood Ale, OffLand IPA) to the hand-built copper-topped bar. The brew-loving locals behind it even made tap handles out of driftwood found on Navy Road. The taproom doubles as an art gallery, so you can get a side of culture with your growlers. 62 S. Erie Ave., Montauk; 631-668-8471 or montaukbrewingco.com
Southampton Publick House This Southampton institution is still a raucous good time. Publick House has eight beers on tap, including seasonal brews such as the Black Raspberry Wheat Ale. The Brewers Burger is a pub fave, but we love pairing the locally sourced fish tacos with a classic Southampton Double White Ale. 40 Bowden Square, Southampton; 631-283-2800 or publick.com
Blue Point Brewing Company This unpretentious taproom has been churning out award-winning microbrews for almost 15 years. Grab a growler of the flavorful Blueberry Ale and relax at one of the outdoor picnic tables. Blue Point doesn?t serve food, though, so BYO nibbles. 161 River Ave., Patchogue; 631-475-6944 or bluepointbrewing.com
