Get a lean surfer’s body with WaveShape
High on our summer bucket list is learning how to catch some waves at Ditch without looking like a total kook (that?s novice in surf lingo). Or at least look like we hang ten--have you seen those surfers? abs?
Lucky for us, celeb fitness trainer and Hamptons native Adam Rosante of The People's Bootcamp is bringing a pretty swell workout to Montauk this summer that promises to sculpt a surfer?s physique: strong, lean and nimble.
Called WaveShape, the 45-minute routine is an intense regimen that?s built around the multidimensional movement patterns of surfing, homing in on what surfers need to succeed: a strong upper body for paddling, an awesome core and total-body balance. Rosante trains pro female surfers, so you can rest assured (well, actually, there?s no resting during this circuit routine) that his layperson?s workout will torch calories and increase endurance. Expect planks, plyometric exercises and other slimming moves.
Classes are held every Saturday at 10 a.m. on the spacious lawn at Ruschmeyer?s hotel in Montauk overlooking Fort Pond. The class is pay-what-you-can--Rosante believes fitness is for everyone--and never feels crowded.
Reward yourself afterward with some freshly pressed juice and avocado toast at the hotel?s restaurant. Now that is totally epic.
