An Aussie duo opens a laid back hot spot

After two seasons in Montauk (remember Moby Dick's?), Australian restaurateurs Nick Hatsatouris and Lincoln Pilcher (who?s also a former model) have found a new home in East Hampton.

Moby?s may have gotten a late start to the 2014 season, but it?s already solidified itself as an East End hot spot thanks to alluring rustic decor (think sun-drenched whitewashed walls and picnic-style tables) and a varied, farm fresh menu. There?s a daily selection of crudos, salads, pastas, whole fish and wood-burning-oven pizzas--sourced from North and South Fork farms.

Prefer a liquid diet? No problem. The back patio is tailor-made for enjoying an alfresco summer cocktail. (We?re talking lush green lawn, cushioned couches and swings.) As for the booze, we?re partial to the house margarita, finished with local smoked sea salt.

One word of warning: The outdoor space can get rather "lively" (ahem, packed and loud), from 9 p.m. onward on the weekends. Hey, in a town known for velvet ropes, we?re not the only ones who want a piece of Sydney-inspired laid-back summer boozing.
