Gurney’s gets a major face-lift
When Gurney’s Inn morphed into Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa in May, it got a serious face-lift to go along with the name change.
The new Gurney’s includes 38 completely renovated rooms located steps from the ocean, as well as a totally new food and beverage program, under the leadership of Jennifer Oz LeRoy (of Tavern on the Green and the Russian Tea Room).
On deck, you’ll find four new eateries: Seawater Grill (a seafood restaurant helmed by chef Seth Levine), Ocean Café (a casual seafood restaurant with raw and sushi bars), The Market (a grab-and-go shop) and, our favorite, the oceanfront Beach Club at Gurney’s. There, you can get your fix of juices by Suja (in flavors like Glow and Lemon Love), cold treats, pastries and fruit before taking a dip in Gurney’s ocean-fed, sand-filtered seawater pool.
What, you haven’t seen one of those yet? Yeah, it’s the only one in North America.
There’s also a new indoor/outdoor yoga program, a cycling center, a beachfront bar and a weekly concert series (Saturdays in July feature rock-jazz pianist ELEW). Oh, and the whopping 30,000-square-foot spa is nothing to scoff at, either.
If only all face-lifts looked this good.
