The Design District can be a hazy maze of to-the-trade and open-to-the-public showrooms, so we’re happy to have discovered an easier way to shop high-end home goods in Dallas.
It’s called My Sample Sale, and the curated e-commerce site has made the whole searching-for-a-hutch-to-match-my-sofa hunt much easier. What’s even better? They do it at a discount of up to 80 percent off showroom prices.
How do they score such good prices, you ask? Well, founders Josh Harrison and Tracy Fishman work with area retailers like Ceylon et Cie and Vinya to make their floor models and overstocked items available on the site--and pass the savings on to you.
From antique Biedermeier mirrors ($285) and hand-painted decorative plates ($38) to Brimini pillows ($120) and fine Agra rugs ($500 and up), the furnishings skew vintage but with a modernist sensibility.
We’re particularly obsessed with the special capsule collection from Ceylon et Cie’s Michelle Nussbaumer, which features a shabby-chic 19th-century farm bench ($1,620) and a vintage orange-hued iron table and chairs ($825).
Thanks to My Sample Sale, we’re all friends and family.
