A worthy candidate for the Christmas Book must be "exclusive, newsworthy, the finest of its category--and a sense of whimsy is good. Salability is not a consideration," says Reeder.
For $1.85 million, you can have the diamond adventure of a lifetime. The Forevermark Ultimate Diamond Experience starts at the De Beers headquarters in London, where you'll be given a 25-carat rough and uncut diamond. The Ciclotte ($11,000) is a modern spin on the exercise bicycle--a blend of form and state-of-the-art function. Its large wheel is a nod to the unicycles of the late 1800s.
Like architect Philip Johnson’s work? Then you know his famous Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut. For $30,000, you and a guest can enjoy an overnight stay there, including a multi-course, locally sourced dinner for 12.

We asked the retailer’s fantasy-gifts impresario (and vice president for corporate communications), Ginger Reeder, to give us a behind-the-scenes look at this year’s selection, which ranges from the Ultimate Diamond Experience to a his-and-hers outdoor entertainment system.
Head to the slideshow to read about her favorite gifts and why she couldn’t care less if they don’t sell.
