But there?s a new community-wide art initiative poised to take best in show this fall: the Dallas LOVE Project, which seeks to show our city as a place of love and eradicate its ugly nickname, which evolved 50 years ago after JFK?s assassination.
The brainchild of 29 Pieces artist Karen Blessen, the project aims to exhibit more than 20,000 pieces of original art, all about the feeling of, well, L-O-V-E.
For the budding artists among us, contributions are still being accepted; participants are encouraged to create their personal love testaments, which should feature famous quotes about things that get your heart jumping. (Learn more about submissions here.)
Blessen plans to hang the pieces inside businesses along JFK?s motorcade route, which started--appropriately--at Love Field.
What?s not to love about that?
