We?ve had our eyes on Apiece Apart for a while now.
The chic brand with Austin beginnings is now firmly rooted in the Big Apple, but that doesn?t mean we can?t still claim it as our own.
As in, we want to own pretty much the entire spring/summer collection.
Designers Starr Hout and Laura Cramer started the edgy line in 2008 in West Texas, so it?s natural that their fondness for the (sparse) landscape prevails in modernist, spare clothing (think the lovechild of Dries Van Noten and Eileen Fisher).
That?s not to say the pieces aren?t eye-catching. Buoyed by bright colors and flowing lines, the sophisticated dresses--say, the acid-yellow Pia Wabi Sabi ($530)--are versatile enough to wear to a summer wedding or even to the beach.
And how much do we love the unique Ulla oversized duster ($437)? We first spotted it at Ten Over Six a few weeks ago, and it?s been kind of hard to get over it. Scrunched-up sleeves, a hood and a billowy shape give it a preternaturally effortless appeal.
