Who let the dogs out? Well, the new Mutts Cantina, for one. This new Uptown concession-stand-cum-restaurant abuts a one-acre off-leash dog park that is separated into two areas: one for the big fellas and one for the tiny breeds. Meaning you (or the on-duty attendant) can watch your pooch while you chow down on a Chicago dog and crinkle-cut fries.

The breakfast/lunch/dinner spot features some of the best-known Dallas food and drink--think Hypnotic Donuts and Henry?s Homemade Ice Cream, as well as Franconia Brewing and Community Beer.

But the in-house fare is equally appetizing. We love the hearty Bacon Mutt burger ($4.50), which is made with grass-fed Harris Ranch beef, and the light pink grapefruit and fennel salad ($7.50).

As long as your canine companion is leashed, he can dine with you on the patio. But if he has forgotten his table manners, a visit to the dog run may be in order. A one-day pass is $5; a monthly membership, $10.

Which means plenty of exercise for Frank and lots of (Nathan?s Famous) franks for you.
