Can you find your seat?

Ever since the Winspear Opera House opened four years ago, we?ve delighted in blockbuster performances ranging from Billy Crystal?s one-man show to War Horse.

But while the opera house is undoubtedly great, it?s important to remember that here in Dallas we have a wealth of entertainment options (and venues). Here, a few alternatives to some upcoming Winspear shows.

Instead of Jerry Seinfeld See Matt Sadler. The Austin-based comic has a quick-draw delivery but still revels in the ordinary weirdness of life. And his sarcastic riffs on marriage are reminiscent of Seinfeld?s. Hyena?s Comedy Nightclub Fort Worth, June 7 and 8; tickets are $10.

Instead of The Book of Mormon Sing along to Side Show, the infamous musical about a conjoined-twins circus act, which is coming to Casa Mañana this July. Casa Mañana, July 26 to 28; tickets are $25.

Instead of Diana Ross Check out Alanna Royale. The Nashville-based septet (front woman Alanna Quinn-Broadus and six guys playing blazing horns) merges elements of soul, funk and Motown--kind of like the great Lady Ross, in fact. Austin City Limits Music Festival, weekend 2 (October 11 to 13); a three-day pass is $225.
